Confusing Words > massage and message

MASSAGE AND MESSAGE
MASSAGE - The manipulation of muscle and connective tissue to enhance the function of those tissues and promote relaxation and well-being.

Examples:

Massage is the manipulation of superficial layers of muscle and connective tissue to enhance the function and promote relaxation and well-being.

Massage can be a part of physical therapy or practiced on its own.

In professional settings massage involves the client being treated while lying on a massage table, sitting in a massage chair, or lying on a mat on the floor.

Therapeutic massage can ease tension and reduce pain.

MESSAGE - a piece of information spoken or written, passed from one person to another

Examples:

I have a message for you from Mr Cole.

She left a voice mail message that she can't come.

We got a message from the doctor's office: You need to make an appointment.
