Confusing Words > choose or chose
Does "bored" mean the same as "boring"? What's the difference between "funny" and "fun"? Here are some commonly confused English word pairs.

CHOOSE OR CHOSE
CHOSE => past tense of 'to choose' - stress 'o' sound

Examples:

I chose a present for Debra.

We chose Carolyn to be the new marketing manager.


CHOOSE => present tense of the verb - stress 'oo'

Examples:

Laura, come here and choose your ice cream.

You can choose any colour you like.
