Confusing Words > accept or except
Does "bored" mean the same as "boring"? What's the difference between "funny" and "fun"? Here are some commonly confused English word pairs.

ACCEPT OR EXCEPT
ACCEPT = > to receive something offered; to agree to take

Examples:

According to proper etiquette to accept an invitation you should write back in the style of the invitation.

They accepted our contract and expect to have our information updated on their website within a couple of weeks.


EXCEPT => not including

Examples:

Everyone was invited to the party except Robert.

No admittance except on business.
