Confusing Words > desert and dessert
Does "bored" mean the same as "boring"? What's the difference between "funny" and "fun"? Here are some commonly confused English word pairs.

DESERT AND DESSERT
desert = > an area, often covered with sand or rocks, where there is very little rain and not many plants

Examples:

They were lost in the desert for five days.

Deserts take up one-third of the earth's land surface.

The Sahara Desert is the largest desert in the world.

dessert => a sweet course served at the end of the meal

Examples:

For dessert there's apple pie or cheesecake.

I donít think I can eat a dessert . I have had too much already.
