Confusing Words > action and campaign
Does "bored" mean the same as "boring"? What's the difference between "funny" and "fun"? Here are some commonly confused English word pairs.

ACTION AND CAMPAIGN
CAMPAIGN => an operation or series of operations energetically pursued to accomplish a purpose

Examples:

If you were an advertising executive in charge of a new advertising campaign for a new product, you of course would want the advertising campaign to be as successful as possible.

The government is launching a campaign against smoking.

Political campaign is an organized effort by a political party or candidate for public office to attract the support of voters in an election.

ACTION => things which are happening, especially exciting or important things; the way something moves or works

Examples:

My husband likes films with a lot of action.

This car has a very smooth braking action.
